ABOUT US

DAVID ABELL, ESQ.

Managing Attorney

Throughout his 28-year law career, David has dedicated himself to the securities industry, amassing a wealth of experience in various aspects of the field. His accomplishments include closing municipal securities issuances, multi-billion dollar corporate securities transactions, and both registered and exempt issuances. He has also represented brokers and advisors in breakaway transitions and FINRA arbitrations, while serving as counsel to private equity and venture capital clients. In his own ventures, David has successfully raised over $100 million in funding.

David began his career as a member of the corporate and securities department at Locke Lord LLP's Dallas office. He later joined Texas Instruments Incorporated, serving as the corporate governance and securities counsel at their Dallas headquarters.

Like many of his current clients, David is an entrepreneur with a passion for innovation. He has founded several companies, including BreakSafe, which specializes in rapidly rebuilding books for transitioning brokers and advisors, and TriLumina, a company that develops semiconductor lasers for autonomous vehicles. David's firsthand experience in starting new businesses provides him with a unique understanding of the challenges faced by those who choose to "go it alone." He is also a co-inventor on five issued U.S. patents related to semiconductor laser technologies.

David graduated from SMU Dedman School of Law in Dallas in 1994 and holds a B.S. in biochemistry and business from Trinity University, earned in 1989.
